Once your tax preparer has sent you prepared tax documents, you must pay the bill before reviewing and downloading them if you haven’t prepaid the full amount of your Engagement Letter in advance.
After the bill is paid, you will be asked to approve your tax return before it is e-filed or mailed to the IRS. Rest assured — we will not send any tax documents to the IRS without your approval.
Note: you are not required to verify technical tax details. Instead, please ensure that your personal details and essential information are correct. For guidance, refer to How to read my US tax return for guidance.
To see the tax due/refund amount, navigate to Documents > Documents TFX prepared > Tax returns folder > Tax year folder. For more details, refer to How to see your refund amount and why you owe taxes.
Approve your return
To approve the prepared tax documents, follow these steps:
Go to https://app.tfx.tax/home, the Home page of your TFX account. Alternatively, click the "Approve" button in the email we sent you, which will direct you to the Home page.
You will see the "Please review our work" banner on the Home page.
Download files by clicking the "Arrow ⬇" button next to the prepared tax documents in the banner.
Open the files in your browser or via the Adobe Reader desktop application.
Note: if you are unable to open a PDF file, refer to Can't open a PDF file.
If your personal details and essential information are correct and you have no comments, click "Approve - Proceed to filing".
Check the required boxes and click Sign.
Your tax return will be e-filed within three business days. If your return needs to be filed by mail, we will provide detailed mailing instructions.
Disapprove your return
If you have questions or concerns about your tax return, you can disapprove the prepared tax documents. To do it, follow these steps:
Go to https://app.tfx.tax/home, the Home page of your TFX account. Alternatively, click the "Approve" button in the email we sent you, which will direct you to the Home page.
You will see the "Please review our work" banner on the Home page.
Download files by clicking the "Arrow ⬇" button next to the prepared tax documents in the banner.
Open the files in your browser or via the Adobe Reader desktop application.
Note: if you are unable to open a PDF file, refer to Can't open a PDF file.
If your personal details and essential information are incorrect or you have comments or concerns, click "Disapprove — Need resolution before approval".
Describe the issue in the pop-up window. If there are multiple issues, click "+Add another reason" to add a new textbox.
Click Submit.
Your tax preparer will review and revise the documents. You can expect a response within three business days.
